Why this role matters
Prove7 is enforcement infrastructure. Policy is checked inline, before an agent acts; trust is scored continuously; every decision is sealed to a tamper-evident record. That bar of reliability and integrity is yours to hold. As an SRE you own the availability, performance, and operational integrity of a multi-tenant platform that other companies' compliance literally depends on.
This is reliability where failure is felt immediately: an outage is not a missed pageview, it is a customer's agents losing their governance layer and a sealed audit chain that must never fork. We want an engineer who treats that responsibility as a privilege.
What you'll do
- Own reliability, scalability, and performance of a multi-tenant platform spanning a Spring backend, workflow orchestration, and the Governed Execution Layer.
- Build the observability that lets us see trouble early — metrics, tracing, logging, SLOs — and the alerting that wakes the right person at the right time.
- Harden the operational integrity of the sealed audit record and trust pipeline (the chain must never break, fork, or drift across replicas).
- Automate the toil: CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, safe deploys, and self-healing wherever possible.
- Lead incident response — calm, methodical, blameless — and drive the postmortems that make the next incident impossible.
- Partner with Engineering on capacity, multi-region resilience, and building reliability in by design rather than bolting it on.
What you bring
- 5+ years in SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering running production services at scale.
- Deep fluency with cloud infrastructure, containers/orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
- Strong coding ability (Go, Python, or Java) — you automate and build tools, not just operate them.
- Real experience with observability stacks, on-call, and leading incident response under pressure.
- A security-and-correctness mindset; you understand why integrity and tamper-evidence matter here more than most places.
Bonus points
- Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS with strict data-isolation and compliance requirements (SOC 2, FedRAMP).
- Familiarity with Temporal or other workflow engines, Postgres at scale, and distributed-systems failure modes.
- Background in security or audit-grade systems where data integrity is non-negotiable.
How we work — and what we offer
Prove7 is remote-first across the United States. We hire for ownership and judgment, not for a seat in a particular building — with occasional travel to be in the room with the enterprises we serve. Expect a small, senior team where your work ships and is felt quickly.
Compensation. The target range for this role is $190K–$235K, benchmarked to the 75th percentile of the US market for high-growth security and AI companies. Final offers reflect level, experience, and location, and include meaningful equity on top of cash.
- Meaningful early-stage equity. You are joining early. You should own a real piece of what you help build.
- Comprehensive health coverage. Medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents.
- Flexible time off & paid parental leave. Time away that is actually restful, and real support when family comes first.
- Home-office & learning budget. The tools to do your best work, and room to keep getting sharper in a field that moves weekly.
- Direct line to the founders. Low ceremony, high trust, and decisions made close to the work.
